Constantly connected with nature

At the Dutch headquarters of DPG Media, awarded ‘Office Building of the Year 2024,’ passionate colleagues are working on the future of media. It is one of the largest wooden hybrid office buildings in the world, where a constant connection with nature is sought both in and around the building to create an inspiring and healthy working environment.

Surrounded by greenery

In the nature-inclusive work environment, the synergy between users, functions, and activities is key. The green walkway around the building connects the ground level, the rooftop terraces, and the building in a way that fosters interaction between people and the outside world.

On the second floor, two rooftop terraces have been designed to provide users with space to relax outdoors, surrounded by greenery. Enclosed by plant-filled balustrades, round ceramic elements with plants and trees create an intimate seating area on the large rooftop terrace by the water.

The building and its surrounding landscape are seamlessly connected, working in harmony to foster a sense of well-being. Together, they not only enhance job satisfaction but also cultivate a healthy, inspiring work environment.

Sustainable and Biodiverse

The landscaping is diverse, featuring lush plant borders and sun-loving greenery on the rooftop terraces. The waterfront has been transformed into a pleasant gathering space with high-quality amenities and abundant biodiversity. This creates a seamless connection between the quay and the social spaces in the square.

In terms of sustainability, water storage systems and other features contribute to water conservation, while the building is equipped with solar panels and will be entirely free of fossil fuels.
