IBM | Think District - Amsterdam
In the Riekerpolder in Amsterdam, the future of work is taking on a new form. In the heart of the Think District, RED Company, together with Powerhouse Company and DELVA, is developing the new headquarters for IBM Benelux. It is an innovative building, located in the middle of a large new city park, where people, nature and technology come together.

A new standard for healthy and connected work
This next-generation multi-tenant building has been designed with a clear mission: to prioritize health, well-being and sustainability. The surrounding lush city park flows into the building itself — with green rooftops, landscaped terraces and hanging greenery that winds through the atrium like a living network, connecting all floors.
With ambitions such as BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum and WiredScore, the building demonstrates that advanced sustainability goes hand in hand with comfort and technology. Thanks to an open-source system of self-learning algorithms and artificial intelligence, the building continuously learns from its users and adapts accordingly.

IBM’s new icon is fully focused on sustainability and health

A place for meeting and co-creation
It started with a simple yet powerful thought: the office of the future is no longer a place where people simply come to work. More and more, it is becoming a meeting place, a breeding ground for ideas, where knowledge exchange and collaboration are central.
At the heart of this building lies an impressive atrium, the green, social hub where everything comes together. This space is more than just an architectural marvel; it is a lively place where people meet, collaborate and inspire each other. Around this atrium unfolds a range of facilities that encourage co-creation and connection: an executive meeting center for formal conversations, a coffee bar for spontaneous encounters, a restaurant, and a lecture hall where knowledge is shared.
Health as a foundation
In this building, well-being is not just an ambition but an inherent presence — both literally and figuratively. The design intertwines nature and architecture. The city park flows naturally into the building, spreading across terraces, rooftops and the lush atrium — a green indoor world where people feel connected to nature.
And for those who want to completely escape the workday, a short walk leads to the new city park by the Nieuwe Meer — offering endless space for sports and relaxation.
