De Key - Amsterdam

As a Fleming, Lieven De Key made it as City Architect in Haarlem. Now, so many years later, the headquarters of the housing cooperative of the same name nestles on our street, the Hoogte Kadijk, in the heart of Amsterdam. Welcome!

To celebrate, DELVA designed and realised the garden at De Key’s headquarters. A car park gives way to a green urban oasis. This serves as an extension of the inspiring work environments inside.

Designing and realising green projects as a means of creating impact with pleasure.

The office garden forms an oasis of greenery and borders the open water of the Nieuwe Vaart canal. The eye-catchers of the garden are the spectacular tree posts. They catapult greenery into the air, as it were, creating a surprising dimension within the ensemble of buildings. The tree posts present a green view for the offices on higher floors. Not just the ground floor, but every workplace throughout the building, is thus connected to greenery. Which ensures a pleasant working environment for everyone.

From early spring until late autumn, the garden forms the additional multipurpose meeting space. A place for meetings, lunches and an informal gathering place amid the greenery by the open water.

The garden forms the heart of the office ensemble and connects the spaces on the ground floor. Spaces for informal consultation such as the collective restaurant, the community room and the separately programmable Work Lab are given a valuable addition by a green garden room which is multifunctional within the operation of De Key’s HQ.
