Nestled in a charming new pocket park in the heart of Amsterdam’s Oud-Zuid district lies the stylish residential environment Valerius. The demolition of the old Valerius Clinic presented a unique opportunity to transform the area into a nature-inclusive living environment that connects seamlessly with the elegant 19th-century architecture of Oud-Zuid. The building, designed by MVSA, radiates modern elegance and, together with the pocket park, forms a vibrant and sustainable addition to the area. It offers a space where residents and the neighborhood meet, while the abundance of greenery provides nesting opportunities for wildlife and helps cool the city.
When the residents found out that we had designed the park, we were spontaneously given a hug as a thank you; the best compliment.
